Depression

Dear viewers,

Welcome to #SciFailSoul. Depression, also known as “Major Depressive Disorder” (MDD) or “Clinical Depression” is known as an invisible disorder. It is also very common, yet often misunderstood. This disorder has various hallmarks, including changes in mood and line of thought, lack of motivation, and difficulty in handling daily activities. Most importantly, it should be recognized that it is a debilitating condition.

Today we are honored to share Omaris Vélez story. She is an undergraduate researcher in the Medical Sciences campus of the University of Puerto Rico and suffers from depression. She reached out when Yanilka Soto was interviewed for our Crohn’s Disease “Spotlight” video.

We just want to say that it was a fantastic interview and we hope this will be helpful to others and enlightening to most.

Enjoy & may the force be with you!
