Crohn's Disease

Dear visitors,

Dr. Burrill Bernard Crohn and his colleagues, Dr. Gordon Oppenheimer and Dr. Leon Ginzburg are recognized for formally discovering the disease in 1932 (Hardy, J., 2014). As stated by the Mayo Clinic, Crohn’s disease is an “inflammatory bowel disease that causes inflammation of the digestive tract”.

Today we wanted to place the “Spotlight” on Yanilka Y. Soto Muñiz. Here, she will share her story with regard to Crohn’s Disease, the struggles she must surpass to achieve her goals, and what she hopes for the future. We are really excited to shed light on this topic since many people don’t really understand this disease nor the difficulties that come with it.
